Haridwar is an ancient city and it is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus it also serves as the Gateway to the Char Dhams of Uttrakhand and Dev Bhoomi. The Panch tirth located within the periphery of Haridwar, are Gangadwara( har ki Pauri), Kankhal, Bilwa Tirtha and Neel Parwat. Har ki Pauri is one of the most famous landmarks in the city and it is believed to eb the exit point of the holy river Ganga. A huge procession called as Ganga arti takes place in Brahmakund area of Har Ki Pauri. The city is also one of the four places where Kumbh Mela happens every 12 years.
