Unique Considerations
For a less crowded alternative to mainstream Himalayan treks, Kareri Valley balances accessibility with alpine grandeur
After breakfast we meet up at our office located in Mcleod ganj from here we drive up to Kareri village. From kareri village we start our trek to Riyoti which is approximately 7 km and takes about 5 hours to reach the campsite for the day. The trail is alongside the serpentine river and then the trail diverges and the steep ascents begin. Then there is a river jumping over the big boulders the entire trail has big or small boulders that you need to cross and you get to have a stunning view of the valley thru out. Overnight stay in camps. You can enjoy your evening playing games or just singing songs while sitting near the bonfire.
After having a nice sleep at the camps we have an early breakfast at our camps. Then we start our journey to Jammukot, the first few minutes there is a steep climb then its almost a level path easy to walk on and by lunch we reach lush green meadows with a beautiful view. You also get to see shepherds hut where they stay during summers. We stop here for lunch and then after spending some wonderful moments we trek back to Ghera from where we board our bus back to Mcleod ganj.
