Chamba Valley Trek (Mani Mahesh Lake )

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 Delhi to Pathankot Overnight train:

On arrival you are met by our local representative and after breakfast we drive down to Chamba and check into the hotel. After freshen up we meet again in evening to explore the historical town of Chamba. We visit the most popular temple the Laxmi Narayan Temple which is a master piece of Himalayan heritage architecture. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 2 Chamba to Bharmour

After breakfast we drive to Bharmour approx 65 km and check into the hotel. Bharmour is famous for 84 ancient temples. We then visit the Bharmani temple and there is saying that before commencing the Mani Mahesh yatra it is important to take a dip in the holy kund. It is also believed that Bharmour is supposed to belong to Lord Shiva. Overnight stay in guest house.

Day 3 Bharmour to Hudsar trek Dancho (6 km)

After early breakfast we drive to Hudsar which is the starting point of the trek. On reaching Hudsar we start our trek which is appox 6 km and we reach our first camp site called Dancho. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 4 Dancho to Mani Mahesh (7 km)

After a delicious breakfast we leave for Gauri kund then to Mani Mahesh trek. There are two ways to reach Mani Mahesh: one is thru Bandar Ghati and the other route which is generally for visitors. The temple here is one of the most ancient in the hills of Himchal. From Bharmour also starts the trek thru Kugti passes to Lahaul Kugti National forest and wild life sanctuary is located in this area. This Santuary is home to black and brown bears, snow leopards and rare pheasants. Overnight camps near the holy lake.

Day 5 Mani Mahesh to Hudsar (13 km)

After a refreshing breakfast we trek down to Hudsar via same route. On reaching Hudsar our cans would drive us back to Chamba. Overnight stay is hotel.

Day 6 Chamba Half day Free.

After breakfast you are free to explore the market of Chamba, then later drive to Pathankot Cantt to catch the overnight train to Delhi with beautiful memories.
