Tour Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive New Delhi - Mcleod ganj (10 Hours Drive)

upon arrival at Delhi airport then drive to Mcleod ganj . Arrive at Mcleod ganj Check in Hotel. Free evening . Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Mcleod ganj

Leave after early breakfast and driving through small tea gardens, pine forests and passing through small villages of Kangra valley we reach Masroor Rock-cut Temples after two hours. Masroor rock cut temples are 8th century old temples hewed in Indo-Aryan architectural style from a single sand stone rock. These are the only rock temple in north India. From Masroor we drive to see the fort of Kangra, situated near Kangra town. Visit to Brajeshwari Devi temple in Kangra is also recommended. The small market outside the temple complex is unique and worth visiting. After Kangra we drive to Norbulingka Institute (40 minutes). Norbulingka is dedicated for preserving traditional Tibetan art and craft. Spend at least one hour visiting various sections of Norbulingka

Day 03 : Mcleodganj - Triund (2975m) ....9km

Trek to Triund, a littel table -land is 9 km pleasant walk through deodar and rhododendron forests. Triund offers entire view of Kangra Valley. It is a wonder ful camping ground.

Day 04 : Triund - Lahs cave (3750m)....7km

This is a short walk of 7km through deodar and oak forests. After 4km reach Laka Got, which is situated at the snout of a small glacier. This glacier marks the snowline . After crossing the glacier go over a steep rocky ridge for 2 km and reach Lehs cave. The big cave is used for over night stay.

Day 05: Lehs cave - Inderhara pass (4300m) - Nag Dal lake (4150mts) .....10km

The trek to pass goes over soft in early summer and rocky in monsoons. The trek unto pass is a steep climb. Fogy weather with zero visibility obstructs the movement of climbers and on such occasions it is advisable to stay back and wait for the weather to get clear. The trek during April and May is tougher due to presence of hard ice. On reaching the top the pass one can see the Pir Panjal ranges very clearly. The other side of the pass remains snow covered till the middle of July. The trek descends down and reaches Nag Dal Lake , beautiful green pasture and is most ideal for camping near Nag Dal Lake.

Day 06: Nag Dal Lake - Moon Peak ( 4645mts.)- Nag dal Lake

We start early, cross the beautiful Indrahar Pass. After descent we again ascent and climb the Moon Peak (4645 mst). After brief stay there, we return to our base by later afternoon.

Day 07: Nag Dal Lake - Chata Parao (3610 mts) 06Km

Today we have breakfast at beautiful camp. Start trek Chata Parao

Day 08: Chata Parao - kwarsi (2730m)....14km

The stretch up to Chata nullah is 6km descent and after crossing the stream, walk over a long pasture land before entering into a thick forest of pine trees. Kwarsi is a small tribal village surrounded by thickly wooded pine trees. Night stay in the village and enjoy hospitality of the villagers.

Day 09 : Kwarsi - Chamba.....4 km 60 km Drive

From Kwarsi the trail goes through dense forest of pine trees. At some places the trail is cut through huge rock and is very narrow. After crossing Hilling and lamu villages on the way. Then Drive Chamba.

Day 10: Chamba - Amritsar (235 km )

We have a free morning to further explore this magical town – why not visit the Hindu Temples or take a visit to one of the majestic monasteries. Arrive at Amritsar free time at Amritsar. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 11: Amritsar Sightseeing

In the morning after breakfast start sightseeing of Amritsar city. Visit Golden Temple-also called as Harmandir Sahib, Jalianwala Bagh and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Summer Palace Museum situated in the heart of Ram Bagh and in the evening visit the Wagah border to see the famous flag retreat ceremony. Later return back to the hotel for overnight stay at Amritsar Hotel. Overnight: Hotel

Day 12: Amritsar - Delhi (AC TRAIN)

In the morning transfer to Amritsar railway station to board the AC train to Delhi. Arrive Delhi and transfer to Hotel. Overnight Hotel

Day 13: Delhi

In the morning transfer to airport to board for flight to onward destination.

What arrangements for drinking water are made while on trek?

You should bring water bottles with you on the trek. We prefer that you filter water yourself using iodine in order to save scarce fuel. We also provide a limited amount of boiled water that you can use to fill your water bottle in the evening for next day’s journey.

Do your charges vary with the increasing / decreasing number of heads?

Cost always comes down with the increasing number of heads.
