Thamsar Pass is located between Bara Bhangal and Holi this 11 night and 12 days itinerary takes the traveler to comprehensive trekking tour of Thamsar Pass. This trail provides the insight of gaddi tribe .It is perfect tour for the travelers in the quest of getting soaked in natures beauty in the midst of relaxing tranquility. Nature is at its best when you are approaching Thamsar Pass. This trek has two high passes Thamsar Pass at 4750 Meters and Kali hani ay 4830 Meters.  The trek is full of landscapes, waterfall and streams.

Day 01 - Delhi

Upon arrival in Delhi, we are met by our local guides and transfer to a Hotel in Delhi to freshen up. There will be some free time to explore Delhi this afternoon, before we take the transfer to the train station to catch our sleeper train to Pathankot.

Day 02 - Pathankot and Dharamshala

Arriving in Pathankot early morning, we then transfer by coach to Dharamshala – the spiritual home of his Holiness the Dalai Lama. There we will be some free time today to explore this fascinating town, before we meet later in the evening for dinner and a briefing for the start of our challenge tomorrow.

Day 03 - Dharamsala to Bir Billing by Car (75 Km 1525 Meters)

We drive from Dharamshalla to Bir and from there our trek starts from Bir to Billing 4 hrs walk. The trek is of moderate ascent. It is known as one of the best placing for paragliding. It gives most scenic panorama of the Shivalik ranges.

Day 04 - Billing to Raj Gunda ( 13 Km 2400 Meters )

Trek goes to the north of billing along spur above the uhl river its a easy walk. Raj gunaa is at height of 2500 meters with the breath taking views. There are potato farms in this village

Day 05 - Raj gunda to Pani Hartu (3693mts)

This trek is moderate ascent crossing several villages and a beautiful scenic waterfall at the base of Thamsar pass

Day 06 - Pani Hartu to Marhu (3900mts)

Over Thamsar pass (4665mts), 10-12 hrs. This trek is weary and it involves climbing. A beautiful small glacial lake can be seen on this trek. The pass is surrounded by snow and pass also shares two different valley (Kangra & Ravi valley). From here trail descends to the vast of snow towards north. The trekkers and gaddis camp at this place and make an early starts to cross Thamsar pass.

Day 07 - Mahru to Bada Bhangal 10 km 2540 meters

It is downhill trek to Bada Bhangal which is situated above the attraction for trekkers, mountaineers, nature lovers and anthropologist who thrive to feel and experience the lives of local tribes who live there in complete isolation untouched from the outer world in their own traditional ways.

Day 08 - Rest day

Bada Bhangal is also a favorite destination for trekkers. Trek is operated from July once local people open the Thamsar pass (4750 meters ) and goes till October. Bada Bhangal is a tiny hamlet and has 50-60 houses. The people of this place are semi tribals as half of the year they live down here and when the temperature goes down they move towards Bir . The village is so remote and isolated from rest of the world and has no telecom signal.Its unbelievable that whole of the village has one satellite phone which is solar panel operated and used in emergency case.

Day 09 - Bada Bhangal to Dal Madhi 13 km 3600 meters

Trail from the Bada Bhangal village start gaining gradual height for first 2 hrs, trail between the grass and bushes. Later trail enter in open valley with stunning views of mountains. We cross shepherd's settlements at Chala got , Sunni got where shepherd's movement observed with big green spots in the mountains everywhere. These shepherd have to trek down to Bada Bhangal village for their food requirements. After Sunni got there is a steep up hill to reach a ridge.

Day 10 - Dal Madi to Devi ki madhi (12 km/ 5-6 hrs, 3750 mts)

Trek goes down hill till you reach at Kali hani river bank and then again start gaining altitude till Lamba parbh, there is small land slide zone before Lamba parbh, Lamba parbh is a got for shepherd. Later trek down to river bed and follow the trail to ghirothala which can be seen from lamba parbh at the edge of mountain as green spot just after a mountain stream. It will take another 2 hrs to reach Devi ki Madi. There is a stream with strong current before Devi ki Madhi.
Overnight stay in Dome tents at Devi ki Madhi.

Day 11 - Devi ki Madi to Kali Hani base (7 km/ 3-4 hrs, 3950 mts)

Trail from Devi ki Madi to Kali hani base is all the way near river bed, sometime trails misleads you to rockfall, be still near river to avoid slippery rocks at the above. This is short day for trekking. Relax at base for the next day early start.
Overnight stay in tents at Base.

Day 12 - Kali hani bast to Kali Hani pass (4850 mts) to Sangoor thach (12 km / 5-6 hrs)

This trek passes through many ridges and crosses many streams on its way to Sangoor.
Start early depend upon weather, trail to pass is small. Follow the crayons (stone over stones used to show directions in mountains) It will take 3-4 hrs to cross Kali hani pass. One can see the kullu valley from the pass. Flags at the mountain designate a small temple of Devi Kali hani. Pass is cold and windy. After more 2 hrs trekking trail reaches at Sangoor thach near small lake in thach. One can see the trail to Manali on the other mountain top as thick trail.

Day 13 - Sangoor thach to Lama dugh (13 km / 5-6 hrs, 3050 mts

Down hill over a ridge, till the river. Leave ridge at some spot once you find another trail diverted from it towards right side, if you follow ridge, it misleads to you dead end. Other diversion reach at river, need to cross river two times and small distance. After crossing stream 2nd time trail start gaining altitude again and entres o forest, it passes through Riali thach. This is the place where the diversions of route to Patli kuhl and Klath. We follow Manali trail by gaining altitude till the top of mountain over a Shepherd settlement. Make sure you are at right trail. This trail instantly losing altitude and steep downhill for next 2 hrs to reach Lama dugh. This downhill trail is over stones, dense grass of over 6 feet, rhododendron trees. Bushes converted into flowers as you are closer to Lama dugh. Trail is slippery if its raining. Lamadugh has a forest department sheds which can be used for cooking food. There is a artificial lake which is the source of water to few parts of Manali.

Day 14 - Lama dugh to Manali (6 km / 2-3 hrs, 2200 mts)

After trekking for more 2-3 hrs, you reach at Road head near hadimba Mata temple trail is total downhill and slippery at some spots if it rains.tThis evening we enjoy our celebratory dinner to take in our achievements.

Day 15 - Manali - New Delhi

We have a free morning to further explore this magical town – why not visit the Tibetan market or take a visit to one of the majestic monasteries and temple In the afternoon, we take the transfer back to Bus stand to catch the overnight Volvo Bus back to Delhi or take flight Bunter to Delhi. Overnight: Bus

Day 16 - Last Day in Delhi

Today is free to enjoy - visit the stunning Akshardham Temple, go shopping for bargains in Connaught Place, or marvel at one of the beautifully preserved heritage buildings that Delhi is famous for. We can stop few hours at Junkyard for drinks and snacks and then transfer to the airport for our flight back to Home.
