Trekking in Dharamshala can offer you the kind of adrenaline rush that is hard to find. Dharamshala boasts of several trails that range from easy to difficult. The towering heights and the magnificent beauty of nature are unparalleled and will make you want to explore the various treks. En route, you will come across gorgeous meadows, stunning valleys, quaint Himachali villages, and dense green forests. The vegetation of the forest changes drastically as the ascent starts.
Pass through Tibetan Children Village, Dal Lake and then to Balh Nullah. Naddi to Balh Nullah is a thick deodar and oak forest and sight of a leopard is very common feature. After a steep climb of an hour one reaches at Galu on top and enjoys views on all sides. From here a 4 Km trek facing the sun traverses towards Guna Devi and the Kali temple.
Very thick forest of mixed variety. Lot of medicinal plants and wildlife in abundance. This is also called bear and leopard prone area. Kanjrala has a flat green meadow where shepherds camp with their flocks of sheep and goats. From here a steep ascent is followed upto Relu Gote and then a gentle climb and traverses to Jari Gote which abruptly opens after a long jungle walk. Jari Gote is located at the base of Bhimaghasutri Pass.
In the month of June the whole trek is partially covered with snow up to Illaqa Gote. There is camping place in Illaqa Gote which offers a view of the Pass and the Mun Peak and other snow capped peaks.
Triund is base camp for trekkers going to Chamba. Lush green meadows, closest view of Dhauladhar, sunset and panorama of Kangra valley, plains of Panjab and Shivalik range are the unique sights from this place. There is water scarcity at Triund.
After the breakfast. We begin trekking over a grassy ridge which offers us lasting memories of the snow capped peaks that surround us. Our trek continues with a steep descent to the Bahgsu Nallaha stream – we cross the stream by hopping over the boulders with the help of our local guides. We push towards Bhagsu Nag, which has a divine temple and natural springs which we can visit before taking the transfer back to Dharamsala.
