Hampta Pass Trek

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Manali- Jobra- Chikka: ( 10100 ft )

After breakfast we start the beautiful drive for 45 mins to Jobra passing Prini, Sethan and than reaching Jobra. Than we cross a small river and start our trek from here. The route goes through mixed forest of pine trees, birch trees, maple, and Walnut and Oak trees. We trek from Hampta Dam till Chikka which is our campsite for the first day. It an easy trek and takes about 2 hours to complete this part of the trek. It is a huge campsite with Rani Nallah flowing nearby makes it a great camping spot.

Day 2 : Chikka to Balu ke Gera : ( 11900 ft )

After delicious breakfast we are ready for today’s trek begins from Chika and walk along the banks of the river to the left. Trek is pretty thrilling as we get to do lot of water crossing. Today’s trail will take you thru Jwara – a beautiful scenic sheltered valley. The route will encompass several small waterfalls, lush green meadows and Dhauldhar peaks. Steep climb begins from Balu ka Gera to Hampta Pass. It is a level ground made up of the sand and dust brought down by the river. The site is windy which make the temperature feel even lower than actual. WE pitch our camps at this place at the height of almost 11000 ft.

Day 3 : Balu-ke Gera – Hampta Pass (14100 ft )

This is the most challenging day of the trek. It is a long day and we should start it early. So after an early breakfast we start walking along the river towards the mountains on our way we will find variety of tiny flowers- purple, yellow and pink. The trek is strenuous all the way long sp we should walk at a steady pace with few breaks. It is not a well defined path so we would need a guide all the way up to Hampta Pass. In no time you will see the first plateau, the magnificent Deo Tibba peak right in front of you. Climb up the ridges as you come closer to Hampta Pass. The descent is slightly trickier than the ascent as always which also depends upon the snow condition too.

Day 4 Balu ke Gera – Jobra- Manali

After a relaxed breakfast we start today’s’ trek which is an easy and gentle trek and takes about 5 hours. Having rested for some time one will be advised to walk up a short distance to a nearby waterfall which also plays a host to a number of white capped redstarts. Once we reach Jorba we will drive back to Manali. The trek ends here with beautiful memories for life long.
